A look at the behind the scenes of Passa Porta’s literature house

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the international house of literature Passa Porta is opening its doors for you. On Saturday, June 22, we are planning a series of free and multilingual activities, on all floors of the Rue Dansaert 46. Before or after visiting our trilingual bookshop on the ground floor, you can explore spaces otherwise reserved for writers and staff, and learn more about the past, present and future of a house that has been dedicated to contemporary literature for 20 years. On the menu: a breakfast on the terrace, summer reading tips, participatory workshops, a literary bingo, a reading session, a tour and, a meeting with Turkish writer Almula Türedi in the flat of our writers-in-residence. Additionally, there will be literary tarot sessions throughout the day. Relax on our terrace in a deckchair, and enjoy refreshing drinks and ice cream on this summer day.

Is a place between performance and literature that deals with the figure of the subaltern. A  powerful performative and conceptual work that subtly plays with our expectations, inviting  us to reflect on the dynamics of power in today's world. The audience is invited to read the  books presented in this book club for themselves or come and share the readings aloud (Grada Kilomba, Audre Lorde, James Baldwin, Bell hooks, Maboula Soumahoro, Edouard Glissant...).. But to what extent can a body embody social pressure in its veins?
