Bio
Marco was born in Antwerp in 1972. He does a first stint at photography at the age of 20 when, following in his father's footsteps, he leaves everything to explore unbeaten tracks in the Middle East and South-East Asia for a year, armed with his Nikon F601 and a 50mm lens.
Upon returning to Brussels, he goes to study architecture in one of Belgium renowned universities. Advertising and in particular photography are an important part of the curriculum.
Degree in hand, Marco's work is praised in the various famous architectural studios he worked for in Belgium, Israel and France. With that experience Marco opens his own architectural practice in Antwerp.
Since 2010, Marco splits his time between his architectural practice and his fine art photography. As an architect his focus and interest are mainly urban, amidst "the man made artificial jungle, the mobile, versatile and ubiquitous world". Momentums and emotions, captured and developed in a cinematographical composition is characteristic of Marco's work. All his photos are taken outdoor, in natural light and without artifices.
